+2télé is a non-profit outlet, and that changes everything about how you art direct. There's no production budget, no dedicated design team, and the people who'll apply the guidelines aren't designers. A brilliant but fragile identity wouldn't survive two weeks.
What I do there
- Art direction: identity, on-air branding, consistency across collateral.
- Design: producing the broadcast and promotional visuals.
- Tooling: templates built to be picked up by non-designers, without giving them a way to break the guidelines by accident.
Constraint as method
In volunteer work the right question is never “what would look best?” but “what will hold up without me?”. That pushes you towards simple systems, few rules and generous margins for error — and it's a discipline that makes you better on the paid work.
