Birds of Prey is an established event, with a run of editions behind it and an audience of its own. I'm co-organising the Bourges one for 2026 — a different exercise from creating an event: you have to respect what makes the format itself while adapting it to a place, to venues, and to local partners who don't know it yet.
What that involves
- Local coordination: venues, calendar, permissions, logistics.
- Partnerships: convincing Bourges organisations, particularly in the youth sector, that the event belongs here.
- Communication: adapting the event's identity without betraying it, and making it exist in the local landscape.
- The day itself: the part where everything that was documented either pays off, or doesn't.
Why I'm in it
Because bringing an event to a place is the most concrete way to make that place attractive. And because Bourges Télévision covered Birds of Prey 6.0: I know the event from the other side of the camera, which helps in knowing what organisers actually need.
